Here are the late bloomers in my October garden. They will for the most part hang in there until the first frost hits the ground and it is time to put this garden to sleep.

As you can see there are still a few late bloomers to enjoy in the October garden, Dahlias, Monkshood, Cosmos, Zinnias, Celosia and a few more varieties, but mostly my own gardens are winding down now and it is time for me to start sourcing floral materials from our excellent Portland Flower Market.
I love growing the flowers for my arrangements, often surprising myself how many interesting combinations there are to be had with our local flower products. However I do also welcome the change in the seasons when the blooms are slowing down. This gives me a chance to purchase and work with the exotic varieties from Hawaii, New Zealand, my native Holland and many other places from around the world.
